How to prepare for exams

Map the material, practice complete answers and turn mistakes into a useful review list.

Find out what you will be asked to do

Gather your syllabus, your teacher’s guidance and previous exercises you are allowed to use. Identify the format: multiple choice, written answers, problems or an oral presentation. Your practice should include the kind of response you will need to give.

List the topics and try a representative question from each. Mark what you solved alone, what needed help and what you could not start. Use that initial check to decide how to divide your remaining time.

Practice before you feel fully ready

Answering without looking is part of studying, not just a final assessment. After your attempt, use your course materials to correct gaps and inaccurate answers.

For a written exam, build an answer with an introduction, development and conclusion. For problems, show your steps and check units and assumptions. For multiple choice, explain why you selected one answer and ruled out the others.

Turn mistakes into specific tasks

“I need to study more” is too broad. Record where your reasoning broke down and choose an action that lets you practice that point. A short note is enough.

  • Concept: explain the idea you confused in your own words.
  • Procedure: redo an exercise and justify each step.
  • Reading: identify the condition or word you overlooked.
  • Time: try a small set of questions with a limit similar to the exam.

Prepare for the final stretch too

The day before, check your list of questions, organize permitted materials and confirm the time and location. Avoid turning your last available study slot into an impossible list of new topics.

In Oren, request quizzes on a topic in your Space and use the explanations to support your review. Check answers against your course materials: an AI-generated quiz does not replace your teacher’s guidance or predict the exam content.
